Mother Dorothy Spivey
Mother Dorothy Spivey, 86, slept away peacefully, early Sunday morning, March 2, 2025. Mother Spivey was born on November 14, 1938, to the late Deacon Ozzie Lee and Mother Lucille Williams. She received her education with Duval County, where she attended Stanton High School. Dorothy was employed with A & P Packaging, Heckler Corporation and retired from Castleton Beverage after 17 years.
Dorothy accepted Christ as her savior. While a member of Under Watchful Care Ministries, under the leadership of Bishop Walter Joll, she served as his Secretary and Bookkeeper for many years. She later joined Holy Church of the Living God, under the leadership of Bishop Spencer Stafford. She faithfully served as the Church Mother. Her favorite faith song was, "When I've gone the Last Mile of the Way", which was a testament of her life. Mother Spivey fought a good fight. She met and married the love of her life, Leephor Spivey. They enjoyed traveling and watching the Jaguars. Mother Spivey enjoyed praising the Lord. If you said, "Lets" she would say "Go". On one occasion, Holy Church of the Living GOd went to a Convention in Atlanta. The driver became ill and Mother Spivey took the wheel at the age of 80 and made on time to the convention. She would make road trips to family reunions but if getting there by airplane, her response would be "Oh, No!" Believe it or not, we did get her on a Family Cruise to the Bahamas.
Mother Spivey was preceded by her Mother, Father, Eddie (Brother) and Olivia (Sister).
She leaves to cherish her memory, a devoted daughter, Joni (James); son, Willie (Terri); sisters, Catherine Henry, Mary Hill (Walter) and Cynthia Brown; brothers, Jimmie Williams (Mattie) and David Williams; 11 Grandchildren, Larry Ty (Lasheka), Andre (Latricia), Katrina, Stephanie, Stephen, Willie, Ashanti, Arnitra, Arkay Shanquett (Michael), and Katrina Jones; 28 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

I love you Mother Spivey. Your realness, laughter, and unconditional love helped me along the way a novice "church person". May your soul rejoice in heaven.

Aunt Dot loved her siblings and her family. She was the matriarch of the family, her smile was contagious and she loved to fish.
