Dorothy Lou Weiseman, age 80, of Salisbury, Missouri, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at The Bluffs in Columbia, Missouri.
She was born on June 2, 1945, in Forest Green, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Irene (Sanders) Speiser. Dorothy graduated from Salisbury High School in 1963 and was united in marriage to Jerry Wayne Weiseman on June 22, 1963. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and devotion.
A lifelong Lutheran, Dorothy was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and later joined Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury after she married Jerry Weiseman.
Dorothy had a passion for many things-she loved her cats, playing the piano, collecting dolls, shopping for antiques, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking for those she loved. Most of all, she adored her grandchildren and great-grandchild, who brought happiness into her life.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jerry Weiseman of Salisbury; two children, Kevin Weiseman (Karla) of Columbia, MO, and Shelly Gibson (Matt) of Columbia, MO; grandchildren: Jake Weiseman (Annie) of Chelsea, MI, Mikaela Henry (Patrick) of Cincinnati, OH, Alyssa Hellebusch (Luke) of Lenexa, KS, Trenton Gibson (Morgan), Conner Gibson, and Chloe Gibson, all of Columbia, MO; one great-grandchild, Waylon Gibson; one sister, Maxine Imgarten; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Irene Speiser; and siblings Olivia Speiser, Howard Speiser, and Willis Speiser.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, with Pastor Glen Gutz officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Salisbury. A visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Summerville Funeral Home.
Memorials to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Immanual Lutheran Cemetery may be left at or mailed to Summerville Funeral Home 601 US-24 Salisbury, MO 65281.
