Dorothy "Dottie" Elizabeth Stone, 81 of McAlester passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2025 in McAlester.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church, 222 East Washington Ave., McAlester, OK 74501 officiated by Pastor D. Scott Vandenheuvel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 1550 McAlester, OK 74502.
Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bishop Funeral Service and Crematory.
Dottie was born on May 27, 1943 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Raymonda Data and Dorothy (Dale) Data. She attended Krebs Public School and graduated from McAlester High School in the Class of 1961. She married Lee Stone on January 23, 1965 in McAlester.
Lee and Dottie owned the Taco Hut in Tandy Town from 1971 to 1974. From 1976 to 1978, they owned Lee's Donut Shop at First and Choctaw. She later worked as a receptionist for Dr. F.E. Smith, O.D.
Dottie was a member as well as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church of McAlester. Before dementia took its toll, she could make anything and did for her daughter. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and traveling. She loved going on trips with her sister and her daughter.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorothy Data; her in-laws, Gene and Grace Stone; and her husband, Lee Stone.
She is survived by her daughter, Jeanie Lee Dancer; sister, Alice King and husband, Jim; 2 sisters-in-law, Sue Miller and Pat Tolson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
