Douglas Robert Geier

1958 - 2025

Doug went on his greatest trip of all. He left this world and joined his heavenly Father, family, and friends who have gone before him. He was the love of his wife Kathy's life for 41 years and a loving caring father to his son Rob and a friend to many. Doug loved traveling especially via a cruise ship as he didn't have to drive and could enjoy the scenery while sipping a glass of Woodford on the rocks.

Doug met Kathy, the love of his life in December 1983 at a country bar where Kathy asked him to dance. We started our new life on May 5, 1984 and were married in Sunfish Lake, MN. We started a family of our own with the birth of our son Robert Lavern named after his grandfathers.

Douglas Robert Geier was 66 years of age. He was born to Robert and Karin Geier in Minneapolis, MN in December of 1958. Doug died at home in Mendota Heights, MN surrounded by family and friends on July 18, 2025 after an extended battle with cancer. We would like to thank Grace Hospice for all the loving and supportive care during Doug's last week of life.

Doug was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Karin Geier and his brother Richard Geier. He is survived by his wife Kathy, son Rob, and family dogs Thor and Loki. He is also survived by brother-in-laws David Richgels, Joseph (Jenny) Richgels, Daniel (Jackie) Campeau, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23 from 4-8pm at O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 575 Snelling Ave S., St. Paul. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, July 24 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota. Lunch will follow in the hall. There will be a private family interment at a later date.
