Dwayne was a deeply loving soul whose heart touched everyone fortunate enough to truly know him. Though he carried a serious demeanor, his warmth, humor, and steadfast love made him unforgettable to those closest to him. He had a way of lighting up the lives around him-even when life got heavy.
He now joins his beloved daughter Lauren; brothers Dermetrice, D'alonte, David,and Malik; sister Shelia; nephew Dermetrice Jr.; and his cherished grandmother, Margaret Taylor. Their reunion beyond this life offers comfort to those of us left behind, knowing he is surrounded by love once more.
Dwayne leaves behind a family who will forever hold him close in spirit: his daughter L'Oreal; devoted mother Vermetric; four sisters Sharon (Kenya) Jasmine (D'Alonte D'Amoni), Makayla (Sa'Bella, Sa'Leana, Sa'Bastian) and Ashant'e (A' Lanah) Each carries a part of his legacy, his laughter, and his love.
We ask that he be remembered not only for the challenges he faced, but for the heart he gave so freely. Serious, but never too serious. Steady, yet full of life. Fly high, Wayne.. your wings were always meant to soar.
