Ms. Ebender "Vonnie" Locklear Usher of Raeford was born on Monday, June 19, 1944 in Robeson County to the late Jethro and Ella Locklear. She departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2025 at her home completing her journey of 81 years.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: John Usher; an infant son: James Usher; and her siblings: Governor Locklear, Sally "Bit" Blue, Benny Locklear, Exand Locklear, Bobby Locklear and Christine Roberts.
Ms. Usher leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter: Lisa Usher Hunt (Jerome) of Red Springs; her siblings: Gerald Locklear (Linda) of Maxton, Ellis Locklear (Dail) of Raeford, Louis Locklear (Lori Ann) of Raeford, and Edna Mae Reyes of Raeford; her grandchildren: Kaitlyn Davis (Nick) of Lumberton and Cal Hunt (Jamie) of Lumberton; her great-grandchildren: Wyatt Davis and Drew Davis as well as a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, July 5th, 2025 from 11 A.M.-12 P.M. at Shannon Assembly of God. The funeral will begin immediately following the visitation beginning at 12 P.M. Burial will follow at Old Bluff Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
