Edward Russell Emigholz, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on July 16, 2025, at the age of 80 in
Vineland, NJ.
Russ was born on January 1, 1945, in Vineland to Maryann Emigholz (née Paterno) and grew up in Minotola, NJ. One day in 1958, thirsty from playing baseball in the park, he met his future wife, Larissa Bajan, at the water fountain. A love story for the ages sparked that day and they became inseparable. They married in 1965, settled in Vineland, and had three children, all of whom adored their father.
Russ was always a provider and worked his fingers to the bone for his family. From starting his career at Cleveland Partition, to becoming a butcher at Pathmark and Acme, to owning his own excavation business, to driving dump trucks, Russ was known for his work ethic.
As hard as he worked, he also understood the value of having fun in life and collecting experiences. Russ's passions included archery, deer hunting, carpentry, riding dirt bikes, home renovations, and making custom fishing rods. He was a Jack of all Trades and there was nothing he couldn't do when he set his mind to it. Russ loved his "Griswold family vacations", traveling up and down the East coast from Maine to Florida packed in the station wagon, and later the camper, when the kids were younger. He also loved his adventures and traveled all over Mexico and South America, from vacations in Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morales, Puerto Vallarta, and Tulum to exploring Panama, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras. Russ enjoyed his boys' trips, whether it was hunting in Virginia with his lifelong friend, Allen Shaver, taking a day trip to a gun show, or having weekly breakfasts with his friends. Later in life, Russ loved spending summers on the boat in Cape May with Larissa and his faithful companion, Foxy Sue.
Above all else, Russ built a beautiful life and was immensely proud of the family he created. He taught us the value of hard work, how to be a man of your word, and what it truly meant to be an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be sorely missed by so many.
Russ was predeceased by his mother, Maryann Emigholz of Ft. Pierce, FL, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Vera Bajan of Landisville, NJ, his daughter-in-law, Doris Emigholz (née Butler) of Griffin, GA, and his daughter, Tammy Baldosaro (née Emigholz) of Rosenhayn, NJ. His memory lives on in the love of his life, his wife, Larissa Emigholz (née Bajan) of
Vineland, NJ; his sons Alex Emigholz of Griffin and Nicholas Emigholz (Sherry Layton) of Cape May, NJ; his son-in-law, John Baldosaro of Rosenhayn; his grandchildren, Dana Pustizzi-Hitchner (Roork) of Millville, NJ, Christopher Emigholz (Katie) of Ft. Pierce, Nicholas A. Emigholz of Landisville, Sean Emigholz of Cape May, and Tyler Baldosaro of Norfolk, VA; his great-grandchildren, Ava Hitchner of Millville, Brody Emigholz, and Bryce Emigholz, both of Landisville; his sister-in-law, Nina D'Amato (née Bajan) and brother-in-law, Joseph D'Amato of Vineland; his nephew Joseph P. D'Amato (Christina) also of Vineland; as well as many cousins and friends.
