"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

- 2 Timothy 4:7–8

Minister Edward Frank Jr. entered this world on July 23, 1951, in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana, to the proud parents Dora Starks Frank and Edward Frank Sr. From the very beginning, his life bore the mark of God's purpose. On Sunday, September 14, 2025, in Marrero, Louisiana, he peacefully transitioned from this earthly life, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and his family. He left behind a legacy of faith, love, hard work, and service that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Minister Frank received his education in the New Orleans public school system, where he graduated from Booker T. Washington High School. His thirst for learning continued at Delgado Community College, where he sharpened his skills to provide for his family. He worked diligently as a Longshoreman and Foreman with the International Longshoreman Association Local 3000, where he became a pillar of strength and leadership. For forty-two years he labored with excellence and dedication, retiring in 2009. His career was a reflection of Colossians 3:23, 'And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.'

Beyond his career, Minister Frank's deepest devotion was to his faith. A faithful member of Good Hope Baptist Church under Rev. Eddie Cross III, he walked steadfastly with the Lord. More than four decades ago, he answered the call to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ and was ordained into the ministry in the early 1980s. His ministry was marked by faithfulness, humility, and the power of the Word. He served tirelessly as an Associate Minister at Good Hope Baptist Church, always proclaiming the truth of God's Word. Later, from 2017 to 2021, the Lord elevated him to serve as Pastor of a Baptist Church in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. One of his most impactful sermons, 'Don't Go to Moab,' became a message he preached and lived-a reminder to stay faithful to God and not be lured away from His promises. Romans 10:15 declares, 'How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!' Such was the ministry of Minister Frank.

On August 26, 1978, Minister Frank was joined in holy matrimony to his beloved wife, Eliska Frank. Together, they built a marriage rooted in love, respect, and unwavering faith in God. For forty-seven blessed years, they walked hand in hand, encouraging each other and raising a beautiful family. To their union were born a host of children who became his pride and joy: Danise Franklin (Jimmy Franklin), Edward Frank III, Lashundra Frank, Isaac Frank, Derrick Frank, Jonathan Frank (Iliana Frank), Benjamin Frank Sr., Tiffany Frank, Nehemiah Frank, Cedric Frank (Tamesha Frank), Ednisha Frank, Ronard Frank (Tyreon Frank), Dwayne Frank, Alicia Frank, and Kimberly Barrow (Pastor Quinton Barrow). His children and grandchildren were his crown, and he poured love and wisdom into them at every opportunity. Psalm 127:3 reminds us, 'Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord: and the fruit of the womb is his reward.'

Minister Frank was preceded in death by his loving parents, his brother Willie Frank, and his daughter Brittany Frank. Yet, his memory continues to be cherished by his siblings: Lillie Stewart, Rachael Penns, Joseph Frank (Karen Frank), Eugene Frank (Pat Frank), and his sister-in-law, Debra Frank. His circle of love extended far and wide, and his family will continue to honor his life by carrying forward the lessons he instilled in them.

Though Minister Frank worked hard and preached with conviction, he also knew the value of rest and joy. He loved fishing and found peace in the quiet waters. He had a passion for cooking and was famous for his ooey gooey pie filled with blueberries, peaches, and bananas. He delighted in adding mushrooms to just about every dish and mastered family favorites like fried fish, potato salad, and peas. His kitchen was always full of love, laughter, and delicious aromas, and his food became a way of ministering to his family and friends. Acts 2:46 declares, 'They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.' Such was the spirit of Minister Frank whenever he gathered his loved ones together.

As we reflect on his life, we recognize that Minister Edward Frank Jr. lived a life well spent. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, a hardworking provider, a faithful minister, and above all, a servant of the Lord. His sermons, especially his charge to 'Don't Go to Moab,' remain etched in the memories of all who heard him. His faith was unwavering, his love was deep, and his example was profound. Revelation 14:13 tells us, 'Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.'

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Minister Frank answered his final call, laying aside the toils of this life for the eternal joy of Heaven. Though he has left this earthly tabernacle, his spirit lives on in the family he cherished, the church he served, and the countless lives he touched. He has indeed fought the good fight, finished his course, and kept the faith. We rejoice in knowing that he now rests in the presence of his Savior, where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, and no more tears-only everlasting peace and joy.
