Dewey Marvin Lastinger, 85, of Moultrie, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
In accordance with his wishes, there will be no formal funeral service. Instead, his wish was for his family and friends to plant a tree in his memory—a lasting tribute to his life and the natural beauty he cherished. Mr. Lastinger will be laid to rest next to his wife at Murphy Cemetery.
Born on February 18, 1940, in Moultrie, Georgia, he was the son of the late Troy Elijah Lastinger and Mary Evelyn Buckner Lastinger. He was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Elaine Murphy Lastinger; and brother, Donnie Lastinger.
