Edwin Jones Obituary

Edwin Herbert Jones, Jr. of McLean, TX passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Amarillo, TX at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 13 days. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at Cornerstone Church in Wheeler, TX, with Pastor Erron Mercer officiating.
Cremation and Arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Wheeler.
Edwin was born April 1, 1955 in Stamford, CT to Edwin Jones, Sr. and Minerva (Riley) Jones. The family moved to Texas when he was a small child and he graduated from Wheeler High School in 1974. After high school, Edwin took a course in Biblical Studies at Episcopal World Harvest Bible College in Columbus, OH. He was employed by the Irish Inn Motel in Shamrock, TX, where he did maintenance and was a security guard for 30 years. Edwin entered the United States Army for a brief time and was a member of Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 68. He was also a member of Cornerstone Church in Wheeler.
Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Minerva Jones; and 2 brothers, Kenneth Glenn Edwards and Thomas Edwards.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Parker; his nieces and nephews, Quentin Parker, Valerie Reeves, Lynna Koelzer, Jacinda Larra, Pam Moore, Jeff Edwards and Melissa Bowers; sister-in-law, Ruth Edwards; and numerous other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Cornerstone Church in Wheeler.
