Myrhum-Patten Funeral & Cremation Service - KewaskumElaine Gauthier, age 78, of Kewaskum, WI was called home to be with the Lord on July 19, 2025, after a prolonged battle with brain cancer. She was surrounded by her husband Dale and her standard poodle Tucker in her final moments.
Elaine was born on August 18, 1946, in Green Bay, WI to George and Florence Balza (Denis). Elaine married Dale on July 4, 1964, and recently celebrated 61 years together.
Elaine was of strong Catholic faith and lived a very full and active life. Her work life consisted of various accounting positions for numerous companies and several years of contract accounting in her own business. She was very proud of receiving her accounting degree at age 49. She was very active with her horse Clint showing at ranch horse events where she and Clint carried the flag for opening ceremonies at 48 of those events. She also went with Clint to a cow/calf ranch in Nebraska for spring branding and fall weaning for 20 years. Elaine and her poodles Norman and Tucker were involved in hunt trials with both dogs achieving Senior hunt level. She was also involved with the dogs in agility, rally, and several other forms of competition. Elaine also enjoyed traveling and visited numerous states and countries.
Elaine will be remembered for her never-ending energy and her generosity to help others.
Those Elaine leaves behind to cherish her memory include her spouse, Dale; and her sisters, Joann Vanderloop and Jane (Albert)Horvath. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by her son, Joseph; sister, Mary Ann Kaminski; and brothers-in-law, Harold Vanderloop and Daniel Kaminski.
VISITATION: Elaine’s family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Resurrection Parish, 215 Main Street, Allenton, WI.
SERVICE: A Mass of Christian Burial in remembrance of Elaine will take place immediately following visitation and begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Kevin Kowalske celebrant and Father Russ Arnett concelebrant. Burial will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery at a later date, where she will be reunited with her son.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Elaine’s name to support Brain Tumor Research can be directed to the Medical College of Wisconsin, Attn: Office of Institutional Advancement, P.O. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Froedtert Cancer and Advanced Cancer Center and the staff at Compassionate Heights for their care and compassion.
