Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home - JayEliza J. (Bark) Carman, went home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2025. Eliza was born on January 21, 1926, near Marble City, OK to Willie R. Bark and Mary (Mouse) Bark. Eliza’s parents and two siblings moved from Marble City to Delaware County in 1933 when her youngest sister was born to complete their family. In 1943, there in Clouds Creek, Eliza was baptized. She was a faithful member of Steeley Baptist Church since 1946 where she served in various ways, including as Treasurer. On August 12, 1963, she was united in marriage to Hugh Carman. Through this union she gained 2 stepdaughters.
Eliza had many interests including reading her Cherokee Bible, sewing quilts, playing dominoes, and entertaining guests in her home. She loved to bring others together with a good meal and never missed the opportunity to share her testimony of how good the Lord Jesus was to her during her life.
Eliza will be forever cherished by her numerous nieces and nephews that survive her. She was welcomed into heaven by her parents, husband Hugh, stepdaughters Fannie Cowan and Katherine Jacks, step grandson Hugh Jacks, her brother Henry Bark, sisters Lucille and Louella Proctor, and a host of other family who all proceeded her.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at the Worley Luginbuel Funeral Chapel in Jay. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2025, also at Worley Luginbuel Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Clouds Creek Cemetery.
