Elizabeth Coleman, born on April 22, 1950, in Newark, NJ, was a beacon of love and care, whose life was dedicated to nurturing her family and serving her community through her profession. Elizabeth passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, in Manchester, NJ, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones.
Elizabeth spent her childhood in North Jersey and later moved to Brick, NJ, during her teens. It was here that she met her future husband, Bob Coleman, and embarked on a journey of partnership and mutual support. Together with Bob, Elizabeth moved to Toms River, New Jersey, in 1985, where they built a life filled with joy, laughter, and the hustle and bustle of a growing family.
Survived by her devoted husband, Bob Coleman, Elizabeth's love and strength live on through their sons, Tom Zalewski and his wife Terri, Adam Coleman and his wife Amy, and Stan Zalewski, and daughter Patty Sanislo and her husband Jeff. Her vibrant spirit is reflected in the smiles of her cherished grandchildren, Jessica Zalewski, Kimberly Walker, Stosh Zalewski, Stellan Zalewski, and Sophie Coleman, who will carry their grandmother's lessons and love forward. Elizabeth's presence will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Nicholas Franks, and her sister, Patricia Franks.
As a visiting nurse for the Ocean County Health Department, Elizabeth provided not only medical care but also a comforting presence to countless individuals and families. Her 25-year career was a testament to her deep-seated belief in caring for those in need, while balancing the joyful responsibilities of raising a family.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Elizabeth was a bowler. Her passion for life extended to her love for vacations, especially on cruises. Most of all, Elizabeth's world revolved around her family. She was a constant figure at her children's and later her grandchildren's academics, activities and sports, cheering them on with pride and enthusiasm.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, Toms River, NJ.
A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at 11:00am at St. Justin The Martyr RC Church, Toms River, NJ
A graveside burial will follow at St Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Toms River, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the (New Jersey Diabetic Association) Camp Nejeda. Donations can be made at https://www.campnejeda.org/support
