Elizabeth Ray, passed away peacefully at her residence on the evening of Friday, July 25, 2025. Born on May 27, 1953, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, Elizabeth was the beloved daughter of Frank Gibson and Mary (Hall) Gibson, both of whom predeceased her. Her 72 years of life were marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, and an enduring spirit of kindness that touched all who knew her.

On January 8, 1972, Elizabeth married her soulmate, Michael Ray, who remains to honor her memory. Their union was blessed with a loving family, including sons Michael Ray of Austin, Indiana, and Cory Ray of Deputy, Indiana, as well as daughter Shannon Moore of Columbus, Ohio. Elizabeth's role as a mother was one she cherished deeply, and she extended that love to her daughters-in-law, Yvonne Ray and Joyce Ray, and her former daughter-in-law, Elva Ray.

Elizabeth's legacy continues through her brother, Kevin L. Gibson of Austin, Indiana, and Tommie W. Gibson of Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Frank and Mark Gibson, and her sister, Anana Kay Ermling. Her life was further enriched by the joy of her nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She took immense pride in her grandchildren, Randy (Rebecah) Baker, Nevin (Marissa) Wellman, Kayla (Adam) Bupp, Kortlyn (Bryce) Ray, Christopher Albertson, Mollyrose (Megan) Ray, Ashley Dowd, Dalton Epperson, and Renee Bishop.

A private individual by nature, Elizabeth chose direct cremation and requested no public services or visitation. A Celebration of Lifewill be held at a later date. Her family respects her wishes and will hold her memory in their hearts as a guiding light.

Momma was the best mommy in the world. She loved us HUGE! She never met a stranger. There was always a place at the table for anyone. My heart is so broken. The only thing that helps is that she will never suffer again. I love you, Momma.
