Elsie Block Obituary

Elsie "Betty" Block, of Daytona Beach, FL and formerly of Hawthorne and Wyckoff, NJ, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025 at the age of 92.
Betty lived her life taking care of others, both personally and professionally. She graduated from Payne Hall as a medical assistant and worked with orthopedic physicians until marrying and moving to Washington D.C. There she was employed by the American Red Cross providing disaster relief assistance. After taking time to raise her family, Betty volunteered with hospice and at the radiology center of a local hospital. Her desire to provide more assistance to those in her community led her to become an employee of the Home Care and Hospice Agency she had been with as a volunteer.
Betty was greeted in heaven by her beloved husband Cornelius "Neil" Block, her son Michael Block, her parents, and her siblings Mary, Teresa and Joseph.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Alison Mitchell and her husband Mark.
Family and friends will be welcomed at Basralian Funeral Home, 559 Kinderkamack Road in Oradell on Saturday, June 28th from 10AM to 12PM. Interment following at Laurel Grove Cemetery in Totowa, NJ.
