Jean Fondren passed from this present life on July 7th 2025. She was born in Three Rivers Texas on November 23rd 1929. She was the loving wife of Hubert Fondren for 62 years.
Jean Fondren was a dedicated daughter to her parents and caring sister to her brothers. She was a faithful, loving wife to her husband (Hubert) and loving, & protective Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. She served in the Nursing Profession for many years, devoting excellent bedside care for all of her Patients.
Jean was a follower of Jesus Christ most all of her life. She loved studying God’s Word and listening to Gospel Music and Sermons. She was a faithful member of Church, and loved John 3:16 as her life verse. She loved her large family and enjoyed cooking. She also loved going with her husband (Hubert), family and friends to hear Western Swing Music and to Dance.
Jean had such a genuine heart for her family, her friends and her neighbors. She will be greatly missed, but we believe she is now having the time of her life along with what the Book of Hebrews 12:1 describes as the Great Cloud of Witnesses in Heaven.
Jean entered Magnolia Place in Liberty, Texas in 2020 due to her mobility problems. She loved it! She was in her element! She nurtured and loved on everyone there! Her long term room mate, Ms. Betty, was her trusted friend! They bonded together quickly. Jean was always watching after Betty and likewise. We can not say enough about the excellent care that Magnolia Place provided for Jean and all the residents.!! Thank You to all the Staff at Magnolia Place & Victor Mancera at Gentiva Hospice Care. All of you were such a blessing to our Mother, Elsie Jean Fondren.
Jean Fondren was preceded in death by her parents Eugene Allen Mapes, Elsie Marguerite (Cleveland) Mapes, (Husband) Hubert Harmon Fondren & Two Siblings Raymond & Martha Mapes.
