Van Buren---Emma Elyzabeth Cormier passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 8 years old, following a tragic accident. Emma was born August 25, 2017 in Caribou to Meagan Wood and Harold Cormier. Emma is survived by both her parents, her brother Karson, two other siblings Kortney and Kody, her Uncle Brendan and Aunt Abby, Aunt Cindy, her grandparents MiMi, Bampi, Grandpa Wood and MeeMaw, many cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and her great grandparents. Emma was loved more than words could ever describe. Emma taught us that family isn't always about blood, it's about the bonds created and nurtured. She leaves behind the family that she chose for us, her Aunt Kassie, Chanel and the boys, Nikki, Evan, Zoey and Ayden, as well as Jessica, Kevin, Liam, Avery and Autumn, and Tynya, Annalyss, Greycin and Sophia. She also leaves behind many teachers, friends, and community members that she deeply loved and looked forward to seeing throughout town. She was a ray of sunshine, that had a smile that would light up a room. Her laugh was contagious, and she just had so much love to give. Emma loved making friends, she loved soccer and school. She was always so proud of getting good grades. When she would set her mind to something she would accomplish it no matter what, she wasn't a child that was willing to give up on something until she got it. She was determined, smart, caring, loving, funny, and just a bundle of light and joy. She loved animals and was always trying to bring more home, and somehow she always knew just how to get her father and mother to cave and say yes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10am on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Church in Van Buren. Relatives and family offer their condolences at the church from 9am until 9:45am on Thursday before the Mass.
