Emma Kirchner, born on February 18, 1950 in Blue Island, Illinois, passed away on June 23, 2025 at the age of 75. Emma was proud of her Irish heritage, a fact that shone through in her warm spirit and the love she held for her family and friends. She was a devoted fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Emma in preceded in death by her beloved husband, James R. Kirchner, her dear brother Butch Kiehn, and her loving parents, Henry and Frances Kiehn. Emma is survived by her devoted daughter, Laura (Mark) Barrera, her stepsons J.R. (Deanna) Kirchner and Royal Kirchner, and her stepdaughter Cynthia Kirchner and her beloved grandchildren; Matthew (Yolanda) Reyes, Britni (Jack) O'Donnell, Angelina Barrera, Tiffany Kirchner, and Milania Kirchner, as well as many great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother Jerry (JoAnne) Kiehn, along with her niece and nephews, including Scott (Katie) Kiehn, Marci (Rory) Herndon, and Carol (Joel) Fletcher. Her beloved dog Keekee, will also carry on her memory.
Her feisty nature was matched only by her glamorous style, leaving a lasting mark on all who met her.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 29th from 1:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave. Darien. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 30th at 10:30 a.m. followed by a procession to Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park.
