Emory Braxton Lowe was born on August 22, 1990 to Vivian Lowe Chestnut and Sim Chestnut in Fayetteville, North Carolina. From early childhood, Emory enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends; his humor was developed as a child and extended throughout adulthood. Even during illness, Emory's amusing laugh could not be silenced; he also enjoyed visits with his family. Emory transitioned to his heavenly home on July 26, 2025. Emory attended E.E. Smith High School and graduated in 2010. During high school, Emory enjoyed Theatre Arts class and was a fan of the E.E. Smith Magnificent Marching Machine (band). This helped develop his love for music and dance. Although Emory was never a member of an official marching band or dance troupe, he was quick to tell you about his dream of becoming a member of The Dancing Dolls. He would often joke with his family and friends about staying ready for hip-hop dance competitions because he never knew when he would get that invitation. In addition to his love of music and dance, Emory enjoyed fishing; he would get excited about catching fish; and become even more excited about frying the fish that he caught! Emory's interest in cooking was cultivated by admiring his mother while she cooked and by watching cooking shows. Although small in frame, Emory's appetite was big; a good, old fashioned honey bun (the one with the white glaze) or a Big Mac from Mcdonald's were two of Emory's favorite foods. Emory was preceded in death by his beautiful mother, Vivian Lowe Chestnut; brothers, Terrance Jermaine Lowe and Terry Jefferson. Our immediate and extended family are blessed to have Emory Braxton Lowe as part of our family; our love for Emory will remain! Emory's life will continue to be celebrated by his father, Sim Chestnut; siblings, Tonie Lowe Gray, Elijah Bryant, Fredrick Lowe, Traci Chestnut Jefferson, Terrell Chestnut Jefferson, and Timothy Chestnut Jefferson; a very special Sister-in-Love, LaTasha Lowe Jenerette (who was Emory's caregiver for two years in which she loved him unselfishly and consistently); grandparents PaPa Wise and Momma Wise; nieces and nephews; aunts and uncles; cousins; Jennifer Anderson and Andrew Thomas (two special friends who adored him). Let's just say that Emory's family "rolls deep". Emory often shared his admiration for his friends who lived on Murchison Road, Pamelee Drive, and in Charlotte. We all will certainly miss Emory!
