Eric Fontenot Obituary

Eric Paul Fontenot, a beloved figure in the Ville Platte community, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 59. Born on July 5, 1966, in Ville Platte, Eric was a kind-hearted individual known for his willingness to help others and his deep love for his family, particularly his grandchildren.

A devoted husband to Virginia Fontenot, Eric's commitment to his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, and their two children, Donald Wayne Fontenot II and Dawn Fontenot. The joy of his life came from his grandchildren, Liam and Layla Fontenot, who adored their grandfather. Additionally, Eric is survived by his sister, Angie Nunez, who shared many cherished memories with him throughout their lives.

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Donald Fontenot, and his mother, Versie Cole. He is also proceded in death by his step-father, Leroy Fontenot, Jr., Clemence Klumpp, and Vergie Myble.

Outside of family responsibilities, Eric was passionate about the outdoors, often spending his free time hunting and fishing. His gentle spirit and love for nature brought him peace, and he shared countless adventures in the great outdoors with both family and friends.

A visitation will be held in his honor on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 8:00 AM until the Funeral Services at 10:00 AM. Visitation will resume shortly after the service until 4:00 PM.
