Erika Childers, age 81, of Jasper, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Mrs. Childers was a beloved member of the community, having retired from the Burnt Mountain Center in Jasper, Georgia. She cherished her yearly beach trips with her family and was known for her creativity in sewing, crocheting, painting, baking, ceramics, and more. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star. Her greatest love was her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren

Born in Czechoslovakia to the late Franz and Julie Sandners Totzauer. Erika's life was marked by her dedication to her loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Childers, and daughters, Teresa Deal and Patricia Dlugash as well as her mother, father, two sisters, and three brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Pam Long; grandchildren, Erika Starling, Nick Deal and wife Tracia, Shaunn Deal, Jason Long, Christina Deal, and Jessica Long; great-grandchildren, Micah, Zamir, Cloey, Justin, Cadence, Trinity, and Riley; brother, Gerhardt, and sisters, Maria and Waltraut from Germany. Several other family members and friends also survive.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 3 PM to 8 PM, and on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 11 AM until the 2 PM funeral service in the Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Cagle Funeral Home and Sunrise Memorial Gardens are honored to serve the family of Erika Childers.
