David Lewis, age 73, passed away in Mobile, AL on September 13, 2025. He was born to Chauncey and Thelma Lewis on April 20, 1952. Mr. Lewis worked for over 40 years as a Journeyman Diesel Mechanic for Thompson Tactor Company until his retirement. He has been a member of Snow Road Frist Baptist Church for the last 5 years, where he enjoyed worshiping and celebrating The Lord. He could be described as a talented fisherman and hunter with a passionate enthusiasm of his red corvette. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by those lives he touched.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Chauncey and Thelma Lewis; stepson, Tony Allen Peacock; siblings, Thomas Lewis, Joyce (Jim) Mangrum; Jenice Fowler, and Fairy (William) Redding.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Peggy Lewis; daughter, Darice (Mike) Bohannon; granddaughter, Anna Bohannon; siblings, Donna Lewis (Henry) Carter, Linda Virginia (Jimmy) Story, and Terry Allen Lewis; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Services will be held at Snow Road First Baptist Church on Thursday, September 18, 2025, with visitation from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
