Erma Parks Obituary

Mrs. Erma N. Parks December 16, 1946 - July 14, 2025 Erma N. Parks, age 78, of Morristown, formerly of Claiborne County, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at Claiborne Health & Rehab, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 16, 1946, in Monroe, MI, Erma's life was a testament to her unwavering faith and passionate spirit, which she carried with her from an early age. Erma was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reece Edison and Leona Melton, her beloved husband, David L. Parks and her caring brothers, Roy Lee Melton and Wayne Melton. She is survived by her children, L'Von Janeway and her husband Rick, Pam Masingo and her husband Danny, Michelle Graves and her husband Paul, and Eddie Parks and his wife Jennifer. Her love and memories will live on through her grandchildren, Alyssa, Bradley, Andrew, Katie, Joshua, Jordan, Lindsey, Mike, and Henderson, and she will be fondly remembered by her sister, Dorothy Harrison and her husband Phil. Erma's legacy extends to a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, all of whom she touched with her gentle and caring nature.
From a young age, Erma dedicated her life to Christ, a decision that guided her through all her endeavors and shaped the woman she became. Her journey on earth may have ended, but her story continues through the lives she has touched. Erma will be profoundly missed, yet her legacy of kindness, love, and passion will endure for generations to come.
The family will receive friends at the Claiborne~Overholt Funeral Home on Thursday July 17, 2025, from 5:00pm till 7:00 pm with funeral services to follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Tim Sharp and Danny Masingo officiating, music will be provided by Savannah Cole. The burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday July 18, 2025, in the Greer Cemetery.
