Ernest "Ernie" Lee Bowyer Jr., age 49, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly at Elkhart General Hospital on December 29, 2024, with his loving family by his side.
Ernie was born on August 10, 1975, in Elkhart to the late Ernie Lee Bowyer Sr. and Carlotta Jane (Harkless) Bowyer. A proud graduate of Central High School, he worked for 24 years at Gasca Tape in Elkhart before transitioning to his current role at Forest River RV. Throughout his life, Ernie's commitment to hard work and dedication were evident in everything he did.
Ernie met the love of his life, Nikki Lasley, at Maple City Bowling in Goshen, Indiana, and the couple married in Elkhart on January 7, 2000. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared countless cherished memories.
Ernie's greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he especially loved watching football, with a particular passion for the Miami Dolphins and Miami Hurricanes. His warmth, sense of humor, and deep love for those around him will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Nikki Bowyer; five children: Kristen Bowyer, Cameron Lasley, Jordan Bowyer, Khaileigh Bowyer, and Karicca Bowyer, all of Elkhart; four grandchildren: Brailynn, Valerie, Dallas, and Briella; his sister, Elizabeth (Bowyer) Ortiz of Elkhart; as well as his mother and father-in-law, Glen and Tammy Lasley, and many nieces and nephews.
At this time, services are not planned.
Ernie's family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
