Errol George Atkins Jr, affectionately known as Junior, was born on October 21, 1975, in Bridgeport, CT. and more recently resided in Norwalk, CT. He passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025. Junior was a charismatic man whose radiant personality and infectious laughter made him a joy to be around. He was resilient in the face of adversity and hardship, with the ability to bring humor into any situation. Junior was known for his ability to uplift and encourage everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His family was his rock, and he was a source of motivation for them.
Junior found joy in the simple things in life. A gifted barber in his youth he loved the art of cutting hair and was always ready to share his skills with those around him. He also enjoyed drawing, and his artwork was as vibrant and full of life as he was.
His faith in God was unwavering. Junior was baptized in 1996 at East Bridgeport Church of God now known as Refuge Temple. He was an active member, serving in various capacities, one of which included driving the church bus. He found joy and pleasure in being of service for the Lord. Most recently, he regularly attended church in Norwalk, CT, where he surrounded himself with those he could encourage and be encouraged by. As stated in the Bible verse, Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Junior emulated this verse, by holding onto his faith, no matter the season he was in.
Junior is survived by his beloved mother Mae Morgan and step-father Edgar Morgan, sisters Passadena Atkins, Donna S. Charlton, Andrea Charlton, Venice Charlton, Heidi-Ann Morgan, Natalie Morgan-Nickle, Stacey-Ann Morgan, Karlene Morgan, Audrey Daughtery, and his brothers Valentine Morgan and Collin Morgan. He also leaves behind his beloved nephews Emmanuel Charlton, Nathaniel Britton, and Jonathan Charlton and niece Jillian Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his father Errol Sr.
Visitation will be held at Refuge Temple Church of God, 3050 Main Street, Bridgeport, Connecticut, 06606, on Friday, July 25th at 9:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at the same venue at 10:00 a.m.
Junior's life was a testament to his unwavering faith and love for his family. His dedication, perseverance and strong will to overcome made him a beacon of resilience and strength. He will be thoroughly missed. We invite you to share your memories of Junior and upload photos to his memorial page, to remember and celebrate the life of a man who touched so many with his encouragement, faith, and love.
