Esfir (Esther) Kogan, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, in Rochester, NY. Born on July 18, 1954, in Moldova, Esfir immigrated to the United States in 1993. Esfir was a loving wife to Eugene Kogan, a devoted mother to Anna Joselson, and a cherished grandmother to Benjamin, Aidan, and Amy.
Esfir was a witty and intelligent woman, known for her sharp intuition and her ability to approach life with elegance and grace. She had a well-rounded personality that made her a joy to be around, and her wisdom often provided those closest to her with guidance and advice. Her kindness, generosity, and strength were evident to all who knew her. Her kitchen was always a place of warmth, where family and friends gathered in to share her love and some of her delicious creations.
Throughout her life, Esfir faced numerous health challenges with remarkable courage and resilience. She fought bravely until the very end, inspiring those around her with her unwavering determination. Esfir's legacy of love, kindness, and strength will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday February 9th, 2025 at 1p.m. at Temple B'rith Kodesh 2131 Elmwood Ave. Rochester, NY 14618. A procession will follow to Mount Hope Cemetery.
The family would like to invite friends and family to join them for a Shiva meal at Perlo's restaurant at 3:00PM, located at 202 N. Washington St. East Rochester, NY 14445.
For those unable to attend services in person, please to livestream the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to and in loving memory of Esfir.
