Esther M. Pierce (Nee Stump), 83, formerly a longtime resident of Eaton Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at her residence in Sheffield Lake on Monday May 5, 2025. She was born May 28, 1941, in Athens, Ohio. Esther worked as a nursing aide for over 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed camping, reading, and taking naps. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Sanford Pierce; her children, Debra Janusczak (Jim), Robert Casto Jr. (April), Sandra Lovejoy (Eddie), James Casto (Sherry), Charlene Monday (James), and Veronica Weston; 25 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and two brothers, Frank Stump and Roland Koepke. She was preceded in death by; her son, Matthew Pierce; her grandson, Matthew "Spooky" Pierce Jr; a great granddaughter, Ava; and by her parents, Jessie and Iris Stump. The family welcomes friends to join them on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 5pm to 8pm, and Friday, May 9, 2025, from 10am to 11am, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will be held Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11am. Pastor Josiah will officiate. Esther will be laid to rest at Butternut Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
