ETHEL BOOTS, age 98, of Rushmore, died Thursday, July 10, 2025, at the Hayden Grove Senior Living in Bloomington. She was born April 22, 1927, in Humboldt, SD, to Alfred and Myrtle (Hines) Raley.

Ethel married Raymond Boots on June 22, 1945, at the East Friesland Presbyterian Church in Rushmore. The couple farmed northwest of Rushmore in Larkin Township. Ethel moved to the twin cities area in June of 2014.

She was a member of the American Reformed Church in Worthington., former member of the East Friesland Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore, where she played organ. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, gardening and baking.

Ethel is survived by her two sons, Dan (Bonnie) Boots, Bloomington; and Gaylord (DeeAnn) Boots, Eden Prairie; two grandchildren, Scott (Meghan) Boots; and Wendy Boots; and two great-grandchildren, Maria & Jaxson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond on November 27, 1996; and four brothers, Clayton, Robert, Ed and Ernest Raley.

A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.

Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Worthington, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ethel was my neighbor at Hayden Grove. She was in the unit next to mine. She once invited me to hear her play the piano and tell me about the years all she and her husband shared their gifts at their church local church. She loved her family very much. I miss her.
