Ethel Louise Staton, 78, of Akron, Indiana, passed away peacefully Monday, July 14, 2025, at her home with her family gathered around her. She was born on August 15, 1946, in Owingsville, Kentucky, to Alfred and Della (Jefferson) Little.

Ethel married Herman Owen Staton in Owingsville, Kentucky on October 27, 1961. They were married 59 years before Herman's passing on December 27, 2020. Ethel's life revolved around Jesus and her family. She enjoyed any time she could spend with her family. Ethel would always testify about Jesus to them. She longed for each and every one of her family members to be saved, and never gave up on them. Ethel also had a special relationship with many of her nieces and nephews, as she would spend hours on the phone each week with them. Many of them called her their favorite aunt.

She is survived by four children, Pama (George) Poe of Akron, Indiana, Herman (Carrie) Staton of Laketon, Indiana, Michelle (Dale) Neal of North Manchester, Indiana, and Amya Staton of Akron; They all remained as close as possible to their mother throughout their lives; nine grandchildren, Cassie (Mike) Green, Marissa (Shane) Bowland, Nick (Kala) Poe, Polly (Tyler) Lisby, Amber (Chris) Moyer, Hailey Morton, April Sampson, Shana Suttles, and Michael (Rana) Poe; 20 great grandchildren, Hunter and Ridge Sampson, Christian and Logan Suttles, Kylie Brumley, Abriana Staton, John "Jr." Patton, Emilyn Wilson, Adarissa Sellers, Izaiah and Harmonee Bowland, Quinten and Duke Poe, Makenzey, Bria, Lakyn, and Kye Morton, Kale Coleman, and Chevy and Joetta Baston; four great great grandchildren; and her sister, Ruby Fairchild of Macy, Indiana. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters, and three infant siblings.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, 207 W. Main St., North Manchester, with Pama Poe, Ethel's daughter officiating. Burial will be in Roann Community Cemetery. Friends may call 4-8 pm Friday, at the funeral home.

Preferred memorial is The Breath Church in Macy, Indiana.
