RICHMOND, Ind. – Etta Louise Gossett, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Arbor Trace.
Louise was born on July 24, 1942, to Wilson and Allie Baker in Fleming Neon, Kentucky.
In her earlier days, Louise enjoyed being a seamstress, crocheted, and was an excellent gardener. She loved being a grandma and got the biggest thrill watching all the grandkids play in the pool. Louise and Carl (the love of her life), loved a good game of Scrabble and could be found playing it daily. She and Carl loved traveling the U. S. Louise enjoyed selling Avon for many years, keeping her co-workers at Reid supplied. She retired from Reid after 32 years.
Survivors include her son, James Hall; step-children, Mark (Kim) Gossett, Greg (Kate) Gossett, and Carla (Mike) Spotts; sisters and best friend, Joyce (Cecil) Grigsby and Lucy Mullins; brother, Curt (Jennifer) Baker; grandchildren, Lee, Stacey, and their mother, Teresa Hayre, Tyler and his mother Kathy Hall, and Jamie; eight great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; special friend, Marcia Selke; and many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gossett Jr.; parents; sons, Timothy, Kenneth "Woody," and Joseph Hall; siblings, Bill Baker and Ena Faye Baker; and stepson, Curt Gossett.
Per Louise's request, there will be no public services. Burial will be in Willow Grove Cemetery, at a later date. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Carl. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
A special thank you to the staff at Arbor Trace and Reid Hospice for their love and support.
