Ellerslie, MD-Etta Mae Grove, 87, of Ellerslie, MD, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at Accent Care Franklin Square, Rosedale, MD.

Born September 14, 1937, in Washington, PA, Ms. Grove was the daughter of the late Robert Braner and Mabel (Filby) Braner. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 69 years: William Glen Grove; a son: Richard Grove; a brother: Robert Braner, Jr.; a son-in-law: Vince Nowowieski; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A homemaker, Etta was a member of Penwood Christian Church, Baltimore, MD and Freedom Christian Church, Cumberland, MD. She was a member of CEO of Cumberland, MD and also the Western Maryland Watercolor Society. She enjoyed painting, crafting and anything involving art. She also enjoyed designing flower arrangements, then sketching and painting them. Etta was a Girl Scout Leader in Baltimore for over 35 years. She lived many years in Country Ridge and was the last surviving of the "Country Ridge Ladies".

Etta is survived by her son: Robert Grove and significant other: Vicki Wrightson; her daughter: Ruth Nowowieski; her grandchildren: Cheryl Clare and husband Thomas; Elizabeth Grove; Steven Grove; and Danielle Czosnowki; and numerous great-grandchildren, including Crystal Clare, Lily Grove, and Etienne Grove.

Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday, August 1, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Leo Lavin officiating.

Interment will be in the Maryland Veterans' Cemetery at Rocky Gap.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to Freedom Christian Church, 936 Winifred Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.
