Eugene "Gene" Doskey, age 84, of Solon Springs, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Villa Marina Health and Rehab Center in Superior, WI.
Gene was born on May 15, 1940, in Minneapolis, MN, to parents Anthony and Pricilla (Stelmaszewski) Doskey. Gene served in the U.S Air Force and lived in many places throughout his service. In January of 1960, Gene married the love of his life, Barbara Dahl. The couple spent their retirement on their lake home in Solon Springs.
Gene was a social butterfly and loved spending time with his family and friends whom he would play cribbage and smear with 5 to 7 days a week. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and listening to country music. Gene was also a member of the VFW.
Gene is survived by his sons, Joseph (Sherry) Doskey of Bennett, WI, and Richard Doskey of Superior, WI; grandchildren, Devon, Dustin, and Brianna; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parent; wife, Barbara; son, Michael Doskey; and brothers, David and Anthony.
A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Solon Springs on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 11:00 AM. A gathering of family and friends will follow at the Solon Springs Community Center from 12:00 to 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Douglas County Humane Society.
