On Saturday April 20th, 2024 at MUSC Kershaw Health, the one we loved and adored, stepped across the threshold that we call eternal life after a long illness, but it was only a step into a room in our Father's House.
On June 20th, 1936, Mrs. Euzelia Faynetta H. Kelley was born to the late Rosevelt Harrison and Carrie Caroline Harrison Huff. She received her formal education from the Kershaw County Public School system, graduating from Jackson High School in May 1956. She later pursued studies for a short period at Denmark Technical College in Denmark, SC. She worked in the textiles industry for many years to retired from Kendall's in Bethune, SC after twenty-two years of service. After retirement, she decided to continue working so she joined the Mentor Program in Columbia, SC. Due to her love and compassion to care for others, through this program she received over 20 children in her home until her health declined.
Sister Kelley accepted Christ at an early age as she was baptized at Macedonia Baptist Church, later joining Sandy Level Baptist Church in which she considers her home church. After marrying her husband James E. Kelley on January 18th, 1959, she joined Mill Creek Baptist Church around 1969. As a faithful member for more than 50+ years, she dedicated her gifts and time to serve on the Missionary Board, was appointed Deaconess, Choir Leader and was Church Secretary for over thirty years. She was also member of the Richmond Chapter #176 Order of Eastern Stars. Sister Kelley loved to sing, so much that she started a family choir comprised of her siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews called "The Golden Tones". It was nothing for the family to sing around the dinner table after church on Sunday. She truly loved sharing the word of God and spreading his love all around. It was her life mission to serve others as Christ served the church. Her love and compassion for her family will be deeply missed a life well lived.
Leaving to cherish her beautiful memories and legacy are her beloved husband James E. Kelley of 65 years. Her daughter/niece Anjanette Harrison-Spry (Ronald) of Blythewood, SC; four brothers, William Harrison of Lexington, NC; Levern Harrison (Judy) of Detroit, MI.; James Harrison of Bethune, SC.; Allen Harrison of Leesburg, VA.; two sisters, Bessie Mae Harrison and Mary Jackson of Bethune, SC; one brother-in-law Charles Kelley of Columbia, SC.; one adopted daughter Shateeka Jones of Columbia, SC; two God-daughters Denise Byrum (Carl) of Florida; MeKeisha Lynn Sanders of Memphis, TN.; three grandchildren (Myia, Travis & Ky'Aire), five great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, special children, grandchildren and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother Joseph Harrison, one sister Louvenia "Vickie" Drakeford, one son Raymond Eleby, one god-daughter Debbie Ann Williams and one infant child.
Special thanks to Mrs. Louester Henry and Miss. Darnisha Woodard for all their care and assistance during our time of need. Your love, care and support will always be cherished.
