Evelyn Murrell Obituary

Mary Evelyn (Geagley) Murrell, age 91 of Loudon, passed away Friday, December 20, 2024. Evelyn was born to the late Cad Lawson and Lillie (Hooker) Geagley in Loudon, TN. A lifelong resident Evelyn would beam with pride when talking about her hometown. She was a graduate of Loudon High School. She worked for the Myers and Evans Drug Store while raising her children. She was a charter member of Bethany Baptist Church where she enjoyed serving in the food ministries of the Church. She loved working alongside the women of the church whom she had forged friendships with over the years. A genuinely kind lady who greeted you with an inviting smile.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Ralph Eugene Murrell, a sister, Betty Underwood and brother, Don Gagley.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Karen Crawford, Chattanooga, Tim (Marta) Murrell, Hermitage, Lisa (Eric) Dickinson, Lake Wales, FL; grandchildren and spouses, Whitney (Tim) Vita, Kerri (James) Henegar, Abbi Crawford, Ethan Murrell, Erin (Chris) Feeney, Emily (Miles) Holmes, Evan Dickinson, Rebecca (Alan) Tackitt, Jeremy (Rebecca) Lawhon; 9 great grandchildren; nephew, Jeff Gagley and niece, Donna Blair.
Services honoring and remembering Evelyn Murrell will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 23rd, McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Rick Harrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Loudon County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:30 – 2:00 PM Monday prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Hwy 72 N, Loudon.
