Faith Barbary Obituary

Faith Lenora Barbary, age 59, of Charleston, WV, formally of Matewan, WV departed this life on May 16, 2025. She was born on April 7, 1966, in South Williamson, Ky to the late Alex and Dorothy Culumns-Chapman. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and servant of God.

In addition to her parents, Faith was preceded in death by her brother, Morris Williams, and her sister, Martha Culumns-Hart.

A woman of faith and integrity, Faith was a devoted Woman of God whose life reflected her deep spiritual commitment. She dedicated many years of her life to serving others as a Corrections Officer at the South Regional Jail, demonstrating her compassion and strength.

Faith was cherished by her family and friends for her great sense of style, warm personality, and remarkable conversational skills. She was the family's beloved comedian, always bringing joy and laughter to those around her. A talented artist and passionate cook, Faith created beautiful works of art and was known for her exceptional spaghetti, which was truly unmatched. Filled with the Holy Ghost, she inspired everyone she encountered with her faith, kindness, and love.

She leaves behind her loving husband, Richard George Barbary of Charleston, WV; her children, Alex Moore of Emporia, KS, and Adrienne Bracey of Charleston, WV; her siblings, Joe Chapman (Ann) of South Charleston, WV, John Chapman (Edna) of Charleston, WV, Ruby C. Jones of Matewan, WV, and Laura Warren (Harry) of Williamson, WV; and her cherished grandchildren, Tatyana Moore, Alex Christopher Moore Jr., Latavia Moore, Ruth Elizabeth Moore, Grace Madison Moore, Nehemiah Joseph Moore, and Trinity Matrease Moore.

Honoring Services will be held in the Chambers Funeral Services Chapel on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. The family will gather with friends beginning at 11:00 a.m.., with service starting at 12:00 p.m. with District Elder Thomas Moore officiating.

Faith's life was a testament to love, faith, and service. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew her.
