Faye Bathon, 74, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:00 pm July 11, 2025 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born December 29, 1950 in Du Quoin, Illinois to the late Clarence Jones and Velma (Cash) Jones Saunders. Faye married Dennis Bathon on September 17, 1977.
Faye is survived by their son, Tim Bathon and wife, Melissa of Mount Vernon; granddaughter, Anna Bathon; brother Roy Jones and wife, Leona of Fort Myers, Florida; brother, Paul Jones and wife, Jean of DuQuoin, Illinois; twin sister, Faith Jones; brother, Frank Saunders and wife, Nikki of Du Quoin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her spouse, Dennis Bathon; her brother, David Craig; and half sister, Carla Donaldson.
In 1986, Faye and her family moved to Mount Vernon, Illinois where they became members of Saint Mary's Catholic Church. She was an active member in the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. Faye loved spending time with her granddaughter and cherished every minute they spent together. She also enjoyed spending time with her close friend, JoAnn Williams and cherished their visits.
A Visitation will be held Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 am with Monsignor David Darrin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Faye's honor to Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Church.
