Faye Lorena Wright, nee Weber, of Washington, MO and formerly of Steelville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 12, 2025 in Washington, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 5 months and 3 days. Faye was born February 9, 1931 in Steelville to parents, John O. Weber and Velma Pearl Bell Weber.
Faye graduated from Steelville High School. She and her friend since childhood, Edwin Wright, were married on April 11, 1948 in Steelville and to this union one son and two daughters were born.
Faye and Edwin were past members of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and attended many different churches as they moved to different locations in the state. She was an active member of the Eastern Star while living in Piedmont. Faye was employed as a secretary for the Superintendent of Schools in Piedmont and Cape Girardeau and as a bookkeeper in Poplar Bluff at a local bank. She and Edwin moved with his job position as a State Highway Patrolman during those time periods. After Edwin's retirement, they moved to Rogersville, MO where Faye was employed again for a Superintendent of Schools.
Faye was a very talented self-accomplished musician and loved playing instruments such as the piano, guitar, accordion and autoharp. Her love for making quilts was very important to her along with giving them to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time planting and raising flowers, such gladiola's, dahlias, petunias, her rose gardens and other flowers. Faye spent many hours in her vegetable garden and canning from its bounty. She and Edwin spent time together fishing and floating on the river. They also loved their time on cruises and traveling extensively throughout the United States and other countries. Needless to say, Faye loved and enjoyed life along with the times she also spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Velma Weber; daughter, Linda Lutes; sisters, Wilma (Richard) Nabe, Sue (Richard) Asplin, Laverne (Paul) McPeters; brothers, George Weber, Bill Weber, John Weber, infants, Haskell Weber and Larry Joe Weber; sister-in-law, Gladine Wright, and brothers-in-law, John Wright and Calvin Wright.
