Felipa Mendez Obituary

Felipa Mendez, 92, of Port Lavaca, Texas, passed away on July 2, 2025, in Victoria, Texas. She was born on August 17, 1931, to the late Modesto Luna and Sotera Alvarado.
Felipa was the beloved wife of Jose Mendez, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and faith. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Youcef (Sam) of Houston, TX; and her sons: Hipolito Mendez, Joselito Mendez (Elvia) of Port Lavaca, TX, Jaime Mendez (Juanita), Marganto Mendez (Rosa), Benito Mendez (Oralia), and Agapito Mendez. Felipa is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who brought joy and pride to her life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, and her beloved daughter, Maria De La Luz.
Felipa was a woman of deep Catholic faith and a longtime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Her legacy of love, compassion, and faith will live on in the many lives she touched.
Visitation will be held at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.
A second visitation will take place at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at San Jose Cemetery in Bloomington, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Adrian Mendez, Carlos Sandoval, Carlos Gerardo Sandoval, Leobardo Mendez, Hipolito Mendez Jr., and Adam Mendez.
Services are under the care of Angel Lucy's Funeral Home.
