Frances "Penny" L. Patient-Gibison, 91, of Troy, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home. She was born on November 3, 1933 in Poplar Bluff, MO to David and Ercy (McGill) Pennington. Penny grew up with her two siblings: Joseph and Carla. On August 13, 1949, she married Paul Patient. To this union were born: Paula, Dan, Patti, David, Peggy, Penny and Doug. She was an amazing wife and mother. In 1980, Paul passed away and Penny at age 47 had to continue on with her life and take care of her children. She earned her real estate degree and she became an award winning agent.
Ten years later, she married Buddy Gibison on July 7, 1990. On October 3, 2004, her husband, Buddy, passed away and left a great void in Penny's life. The First Baptist Church of Troy was very important to her. She was a devoted member of the church and had many church friends.
Surviving are her loving family members: her children: Paula, Dan (wife, Jeri), Patti (husband, Pat) David (wife, Janet) Peggy (husband, David) and Doug (wife Linda), many grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is further survived by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Penny was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Patient and Buddy Gibison; her siblings: Carla Mae Chandler and Joseph Pennington; and her daughter, Penny Sue Patient on Jan. 1, 2021
The family will be conducting a memorial service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Troy.
