Frances Ann Payne, daughter of Harry and Florence (Walkup) Jameson, was born on November 21,1943, in Springfield, Missouri and entered her Heavenly home on July 3, 2025, at the age of eighty-one years.
Frances was united in marriage with her forever love, James Monroe "Jim" Payne on September 7, 1963. They were nearly inseparable over the years, sharing triumphs and tears laughter and love, side by side. Prior to Jim's unexpected passing on November 17, 2012, they had shared forty-nine years of precious memories together.
Frances made a profession of faith early in life and lived her life accordingly. She and Jim faithfully attended the Methodist Church. The love, support and continued prayers from her church families were precious to her.
Although her top priority was tending to the needs of her home, Frances also enjoyed a variety of hobbies and was actively involved in community events. She was part of the Welcome Wagon, providing baskets full of goodies to families that were new to the area. Over the years, she and Jim donated time and money to Habitat for Humanity. It was an organization near and dear to their hearts. She also enjoyed traveling with Jim and their fur babies, their precious dogs, "Smoky" and "Charlie." However, her most treasured moments were those spent with family and friends.
Frances is survived by her sister-in-law, Vivian Calton; nieces and nephews, Anita Austin Keefe and her husband, Mike, Candy Vanderpool and her husband, Dwight, Sandra Burd, Janet Carr and her husband, Jeff and Craig Calton and his wife, Rhonda; numerous great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; other relatives and many lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Harry Jameson; her husband Jim; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, James "Jim" Shannon Payne and Edith Payne; one niece, Katrina Pack; and two sisters-in-law, Erma Motter and Norma Taylor.
Frances meant so much to so many of us. She loved animals, her community and listening to Neil Diamond, in concert with Jim, was her favorite of course. She loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She will be greatly missed, until we meet again.
Graveside service for Frances will be held at 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Graham Cemetery.
Memorials have been suggested to Paws & Claws Animal Adoption Center or Habitat for Humanity.
Donations can be left at or mailed to Shadel's Colonial Chapel, P.O. Box 948 or 1001 N. Lynn, Lebanon, MO 65536.
