Frances Therese Porembski, affectionately known as Nanny, passed away peacefully at home in New Lenox, Illinois, on May 15, 2025, at the age of 98.

Born on March 31, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, Frances was the cherished daughter of Salvatore and Teresa (née Fonte) Sabatini. She carried the values of faith, family, and resilience throughout her life-principles that shaped her journey and inspired those around her.

Frances shared 63 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Stanley J. Porembski. Together they built a life grounded in love and mutual devotion. She was a devoted mother to four children: Therese Farias-Eisner (Husband: Robin), Patricia Krause (Husband: Joseph), Judith Beller (Husband: Michael), and Anthony Porembski (Wife: Diane). Her legacy lives on through her 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A woman of deep Catholic faith, Frances found strength and solace in her spiritual life. She held a special devotion to St. Jude and lived each day with grace and prayerful reflection.

Frances found her greatest joy in the presence of family. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and unconditional love-a sanctuary where generations gathered to share stories and create lasting memories.

A Celebration of Life will be held on October 25, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 9300 W. 167th Street. Visitation will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages acts of kindness in Frances' memory and continued devotion to St. Jude, or a donation to Wreaths Across America at the following link with specific placement at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois: https://www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/Shop/Product/597?tid=7AB3974B-19B4-486A-8D57-80E9165D129D&pageIds=19520,0&vw=home

May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her and may the love she shared continue to shine through those she leaves behind.

Terry, Patty, Judy, and Tony,
I have often thought of your Mom over the years and was sad to hear of her passing. She was a special lady and I have such great memories of her and your Dad and all of the Porembski´s. Prayers to all of you.

Terry, Patty, Judy & Tony - Just learned from Karen of the passing of your wonderful Mother. We often wondered how she was doing, was she still in California etc. Karen found the obituary and I´m so sorry for your loss. But what a wonderful life she had with your Dad and all of you. Oh the fun we had growing up on Major! I hope to be able to come to the memorial in October and see all of you.
