Francis LaFreniere, 94, passed away peacefully at home in Brookline, NH, on June 28, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply. Born in Greenville, NH, on March 4, 1931, he was the beloved son of Treffile and Bernice (Quint) LaFreniere.
After graduating from high school, Francis proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division. That same strength and commitment would go on to define every chapter of his life.
Francis married the love of his life, Fayeth (Salo), on May 16, 1971. Together, they built a home full of love, laughter, and adventure. Though Fayeth passed away in 2008, her memory remained a constant presence in Francis's heart.
For many years, Francis ran Science Driver Education School in New Ipswich and Wilton, teaching countless students with patience, humor, and dedication. He was also a longtime member of the Colonial Hills Baptist Church and the Brookline American Legion.
Francis had a deep love for travel and was always up for a day trip to the beach or a weekend of camping or driving cross country. He was known for his warm sense of humor, stories, unwavering work ethic, and fierce devotion to his family.
He leaves behind his children: Guy and Leigh-Ann LaFreniere of Brookline, NH, Glen and Jade LaFreniere of Bryson City, NC, Tami LaFreniere and Kevin Shea of Nashua, NH, Tia and Jonathan Johnson of Goffstown, NH. Francis was a proud and loving grandfather to 15 grandchildren: Megan, Matthew, Valerie, Holleigh, Guy Jr., Dillon, Collin, Calvin, Sage, Trust, Landon, Levi, Linwood, Locke, and Fern. He also leaves behind one treasured great-grandson, Daniel.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 5:00PM–8:00 PM at Michaud Funeral Home, 32 Maple Street, Wilton, NH. A celebration of Francis's life will take place on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 54 Melendy Road, Milford, NH, followed by burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Brookline, NH, with military honors.
Francis's life was a beautiful example of quiet strength, deep faith, and unconditional love. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.
