Francis Wilson Obituary
A man of deep faith, Francis served as an elder for many years at New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where he also took on the important role of caretaker for New Salem Cemetery. His commitment to his community and family was unwavering, often bringing his twin brothers into his many endeavors with a distinctive to-do list.
Francis enjoyed the simplicity of life on his farm, where he found joy in both work and the beauty of his surroundings.
Mr. Wilson departed this life on July 1, 2025, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 25 days, leaving behind cherished memories. He is survived by two brothers, Harry Donald Wilson of Bartlett, TN, and Larry Ronald Wilson and wife Marcia of Collierville, TN; a sister, Dorothy McKnight of Collierville, TN; nephew, Zach Don Wilson of Bartlett, TN; nieces, Cathy Purcell and husband Calvin of Germantown, TN, and Judy Hyle and husband Tom of Memphis, TN; two great nephews, Henry and Hayes Hyle. Additionally, he is remembered fondly by special family friends and neighbors, David and Vicki Rankin, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Johnny McKnight, and sister-in-law, Emma Wilson.
Francis Young Wilson will be remembered for his dedication to family, his unwavering faith, and his lasting impact on all who knew him.
