Frankie Lee Howard was born on November 17, 1945 in a farmhouse in Hollister, MO. She married Ronald "Steve" Burkett on November 15, 1973. Their family included John "Chris" and grew to include Jason and Stephanie.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Steve, and her parents J. Frank "Goldie" and Opal Howard and Mother in Law, Sue Lea. She is survived by her Children: John "Chris" Burkett (Amie), Jason Burkett (Stefanie) and Stephanie Ellis (Danny), Grandchildren: Killian (Mariah) Burkett, Alexander Burkett, Madilyn Burkett, Justice Burkett, Raegan Ellis, Trinity Burkett, Peyton Ellis and Sean Ellis, Sisters: Sally (Robert) Groves and Sandy Vincent, Father in law William Lea and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Frankie leaves behind a lasting legacy of love for God, family, friends and the church. She would give freely of her time and talent. She worked hard in her adult life, being an invaluable asset to Milky Way Transport Company. In church, she could be found teaching children's classes or lifting her voice in praise. In retirement, she found a love and a gift for Sewing and Quilting and spent hours creating quilts for others. She attended many sporting events, drama and band performances of her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She found such joy in family gatherings of love, laughter for holidays, celebrations, and each Sunday lunch.
She departed this world on Saturday July 12, 2025 and is celebrating in Heaven. She will be buried yards from her birthplace, at Snowden Cedar Valley Cemetery in Hollister, MO.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 11:00 am, Thursday, July 17, 2025 at East Grand Church of Christ. Funeral Services will begin immediately following the visitation at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Cedar Valley Cemetery in Hollister, MO.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to New Covenant Academy in her honor to help support a school and community that she believed in.
