Betty S. King, known as Frankie (nee Sexton), by her family and friends, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Born March 29, 1939, in Baileysville, West Virginia has passed away on 19 August 2025. Frankie resided in Severn, Maryland since 1979. Frankie is predeceased by her Husband of 56 years Elmer Clinton King, Jr., her son Elmer Clinton King and her parents, Susie Kathleen Sexton (homemaker) and John Foster Sexton (coal miner).

Beloved mother of Kathleen Querry, Cynthia King, Mark King, Patricia (PJ) Owens and Jennifer King, and a sister from another mother Ginny Sexton of Illinois. Beloved mother of 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

While being an Army wife of 25 years, she enjoyed traveling the world, a myriad of places in the United States, as well as overseas with such places as Asmara, Ethiopia (now Eritrea), having spent two tours there. While in Ethiopia she visited such places as Keren, the Red Sea and many other wonderful places. While only being in Augsburg, Germany, on one tour Frankie enjoyed volksmarching with the entire family just about every weekend. One of her favorite places to travel was Holland when the tulips were in bloom.

Frankie's greatest joy was being a mom, a grandmother and great grandmother. Her home was a place for holidays where the entire family gathered to eat, laugh and play family games. Frankie enjoyed going to the Casino, Cross-stitching, and spending time in her yard talking with neighbors.

Frankie will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family is kindly requesting donations in her name to the Down Syndrome Diagnosis Network.
