Leavitt Funeral Home - WadesboroWADESBORO – On Saturday, October 18, 2025, Mrs. Rosa Burr Pinkston, lovingly known by many as “Peggy” passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Albemarle.
Peggy was born December 30, 1928, in Anson County, NC and was the daughter of the late James Thomas Burr and the late Rosa Currie Burr. She was a graduate of Deep Creek High School.
Her life was one of faith, service and devotion to her family. She had active roles within the church, First United Methodist Church, Wadesboro, Anson County Board of Elections precinct official, Anson County Hospital Pink Lady, Home Extension Homemakers and Woodmen of the World.
She enjoyed gardening, crafts, square dancing and playing cards with friends. Her spirit and zest for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Those who are left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mike and Randy; her daughter, Pam (Steve); her 6 grandchildren; her 8 great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Minnie Lee Moore and her nieces and nephews and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Tenny” Pinkson, her son, Todd Lee Pinkston and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy Burr (Virginia), David Burr (Betty) and Ben Burr (Nellie).
Peggy will be laid to rest beside her husband in Eastview Cemetery at a private graveside service.
A celebration of life service is planned for Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 4:00 PM at First United Methodist Church in Wadesboro.
The family is most grateful to her grandson, Preston, for all he has done for her while she was a resident at Spring Arbor Assisted Living in Albemarle.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be considered to either, Eastview Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 274, Wadesboro, NC 28170 or to First United Methodist Church, 118 E. Morgan St., Wadesboro, NC 28170.
