Fred Campana Obituary

Fred R. Campana, 95 of Nutley, passed away on Thursday July 10, 2025 at his home. Born in Newark he was the son of the late Dino and Jenny (Verniero) Campana. Fred was raised in Nutley and then lived in Belleville, returning to Nutley in 1984. He was a delivery driver with the Newark Evening News before retiring and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran serving aboard the hydrographic surveying ship, USS Maury (AGS-16). He was an active parishioner of Holy Family Church and served for many years as an usher.
Fred was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucille (Conforti) Campana and is survived by his children, Darlene Carmosino and husband, Steven, Dean Campana and wife, Marianne Paulson Campana, Donna Pinto Campana, his grandchildren, Christopher, Joseph and Michael Carmosino, Jenna Canfora and husband, Michael, Dean James Campana and wife Brittany, and Demitri Pinto Campana He also leaves his great grandchildren, Michaela and Dante Canfora, Nico and Mila Campana. He is also survived by his companion of 27 years, Stephanie Vasilakis and her children and grandchildren. He was the dear brother of the late Robert and Donald Campana.
Funeral from the S.W. Brown & Son Funeral Home, 267 Centre St. Nutley on Saturday July 19, 2025 at 9:30 am. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Holy Family Church, Nutley at 10:30 am followed by burial at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Montclair. Visitors will be received at the funeral home on Friday July 18 from 4-7 pm.
