Born in Greenville on December 6, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Frank Calvin McDaniel and Vera Blakely McDaniel. Gail retired from a career of over 50 years as a radiology technician at Laurens County Hospital. A faithful member of Saint James Methodist Church in Laurens, Gail found joy and fellowship among her church family. She cherished the time spent with her friends, whether it was exercising together or enjoying meals out. She had a love for reading and could often be found with a book in hand. In addition to her love for literature, Gail delighted in attending plays, both in Abbeville and at the Peace Center.
She is survived by her children, Gail Eileen Abercrombie and Cecil Lewis Abercrombie, Jr. (Jenny); grandchildren, Jesse Abercrombie (Brittany) and Blakely Abercrombie; a great grandchild, Braxton Abercrombie; a sister, Frankie Harris; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Lamb and VeraAnn Howell.
A private family service will be held.
