Garthalon Ann Earl

Garthalon Ann Earl, affectionately known as GiGi, of Laurens, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born in York, SC to the late Joe and Gussie Mae Gaines, GiGi was of the Baptist faith, and without a doubt reunited in Heaven with many loved ones she was longing to see.
GiGi loved spending time with her grandchildren and the many friends she held dear to her heart. She loved to be around people to socialize, having fun dancing and playing bingo. GiGi loved all animals, gardening, NASCAR, and was the biggest Clemson fan!
She is survived by her children, Tracy Payton (Lewis) of Salem, AL, Joe Earl(Cheryl) of Laurens, Crystal Riggins (Chris) of Easley, SC, and Russell Stansell of Laurens; grandchildren, Dillon Bigham (Haley), Derek Bigham (Mary),Madison Earl, Matthew Earl, Samantha Earl, Logan Riggins, Rylee Riggins, and Cooper Stansell; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Gaines and Ronnie Gaines; sisters, Geraldine Wofford and Lynn Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, GiGi is predeceased by her two brothers, Vernon Gaines and Kenneth Gaines.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 7, 2025, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Todd Leach.
The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers over the past eight years, especially recently the staff at NHC Healthcare in Clinton and Caris Hospice Healthcare of Greenwood. Your love and compassion for GiGi will always be treasured to our family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Gigi's memory with a donation to Caris Hospice Healthcare of Greenwood or an organization that supports Dementia/Alzheimer's patients and their families.
