Gary Crain Obituary

Gary Edward Crain, 78, of Hot Springs Village, passed away on September 19, 2025, at CHI St. Vincent Hospital in Hot Springs. He was born on September 28, 1946, in Searcy, Arkansas, to the late Avie and Kate (Butler) Crain. Gary will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his humor, and the way he touched the lives of everyone he met. For eight and a half years, he and his beloved wife, Patricia, delighted audiences with their "Gomer & Patsy Show," where Gary shined as a Gomer Pyle impersonator. Their travels took them to Texas, Arizona, Mississippi, and throughout the Southwest, sharing laughter and light wherever they went. Whether performing at churches or nursing homes, Gary's heart for people was always evident-he truly never met a stranger and had a gift for bringing a smile to anyone's face. In addition to the "Gomer & Patsy Show" he also entertained for snowbirds throughout the south. Above all, Gary loved his family deeply and will be forever cherished for the love, laughter, and kindness he shared so freely. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Patricia (Williams) Crain; children, Grayson (Sylvia) Crain, Shay (Rusty) Daniel, and Matthew Crain; grandchildren, Brianna (Eric) Ledé, Alyssa Crain, Nicholas Longoria, Deacon Bernal, and Maiya Bernal; great grandchildren, Autumn Ledé, and Alayah Ledé; sister, Marilyn (Jimmy) Norris; and brother, Brad (Jackie) Crain. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Danny Crain; and two nephews, Jacob Crain and Jeff Norris. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 2:00pm, at Powell Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Center Hill Baptist Cemetery.
